. (Plu.Thes.33 wrongly derives the name of the Ἄνακες from this word, τὸ γὰρ ἄνω τοὺς Ἀττικοὺς ἀνέκας (sic) ὀνομάζειν καὶ ἀνέκαθεν τὸ ἄνωθεν, cf. Num.13: but -κάς perh. as in ἀνδρα-κάς (A) (q.v.), ἑ-κάς : ἀνεκάς does not contain ἑκάς; ἀνεκάς· ψιλῶς, Phot.p.129.13 R., i.e. not ἀνηεκάς.)
